ABILENE, TX: The third ranked Texas Wesleyan University men's golf team finished second at Abilene Christian University's Charles Coody Intercollegiate. The Rams led after Monday's opening round, but Odessa College shot a final round 284 to finish at 574 for the tournament besting Texas Wesleyan by a single shot.

Texas Wesleyan shot a solid 289 on Tuesday, but Odessa stormed back from third place with a round of 284. Meanwhile Abilene Christian's Corbin Renner navigated Diamond Back Golf Club's par 71, 6,977 yard layout in just 65 shots on Tuesday to take the individual medalist position at seven-under par 135 through 36 holes.

Calvin Clyde once again led the Rams with a round of even par to place second amongst the 76 individuals at 137. Jon Paul Blampied shot 73 to finish at 145 in a tie for 10th. Blake Vinson contributed a round of 72 to move into a tie for 20th with his teammate Colby Webb at 147. Jose Rolz counted a round of 73 on Tuesday and finished tied for 29th at 149.

Midland College and Abilene Christian tied for third amongst 12 teams at 586, while Grand Canyon University rounded out the top-five at 590.

The Rams will be back in action at the NAIA Preview Invitational hosted by the Sun Conference. That tournament will be held September 16-17, at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL, home of the 2014 NAIA National Championship.
