SAN ANTONIO, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University track teams competed at the eighth annual UIW Invitational on Friday and Saturday, hosted by University of the Incarnate Word.

In women's 800-meter action,
Ray Vidales led a trio of TXWES top 10 finishers. Vidales placed fourth out of 18 with a time of 2:22.26, good for fourth best all-time in school history. Melissa Gonzales took sixth with a time of 2:29.42, while
Brianna Alexander followed in seventh, crossing the finish line at the 2:30.17 mark. Â

In the 1500-meter run, Vidales finished 16th out of a field of 29 and posted a time of 5:11.28, while
Brianna Alexander posted a time of 5:25.75.

Gonzales zoomed in the 5000-meter, taking fourth out of 16 with a time of 19:17.23.
Jaclyn Ramos turned in a time of 22:58.48 in the same event.

On the men's side,
Fernando Orellana finished in the middle of the pack of the 800-meter, taking 11th out of 21 with a time of 2:06.73

Orellana also ran the 1500-meter, turning in a time of 4:12.67, good for 12th out of 29.
