Lalang Named NAIA Runner of the Week

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University's Isaac Lalang added NAIA National Runner of the Week to his impressive resume this season.  Lalang received the award for his performance during the period of October 6-12.

Lalang was selected out of a pool of conference Runner of the Week award recipients.  He has been named SAC Runner of the Week twice this season.

Lalang bested 171 runners including NCAA Division I competition from Incarnate Word, Texas State, Abilene Christian, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and UT-Pan American to win the Incarnate Word Invitational. The freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, broke Texas Wesleyan's 8K school record with a time of 24:20.5 seconds in front of the second-place runner from Tarleton State.

Lalang's season has been nothing short of remarkable.  In his first season with the Rams, he has run five races, set five school records, and recorded four victories.

Lalang and the Rams will return to action at Midwestern State University's MSU Cross Country Carnival on Saturday, October 18.
