Rams Take 3-0 loss

CHICHASHA, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (3-2-1) took a 3-0 loss to the University of Science and Arts Drovers (2-1) on Friday afternoon.

 

The Drovers put the pressure on the Rams early taking a shot in the 31st second of the game and three shots and two corners in the first seven minutes of the contest.

 

The Drovers kept that tempo and took a 1-0 advantage in the 13th minute with a goal by Scott Parkinson assisted by Perry Sanford.

 

USAO kept taking shots and landed another goal in the 39th minute, taking a 2-0 halftime lead.

 

The Drover took 17 shots in the first half compared to the Rams' five. Fouls were almost even with the Drovers picking up six to Wesleyan’s five.

 

Dejan Milosevic made all of his saves in the first half.

 

The Drovers came out with the same intensity they started the game and put in the third goal of the match within five minutes of the start of the second half, putting USAO up to a 3-0 lead.

 

The Rams could not make any runs as the Drovers took the 3-0 shutout victory at home.

 

The Drovers outshot the Rams 23-13, and corner kicks at 6-3 in the match. USAO finished with 15 fouls to Wesleyan’s 11.

 

TJ Romaguera led the Rams taking four shots, three of them on goal. Liren Halle and Ivan Kovacevic also had three shots each in the loss.

 

The Rams travel to Victoria, TX, to take on the University of Houston Victoria on Monday, September 18. Game time is set for a 3:00 pm start.
