MUSKOGEE, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team (11-3, 6-2 RRAC) cruised to a 76-59 victory at Bacone College (2-12, 1-8) on Thursday
 
After a slow start that saw Texas Wesleyan miss its first six three-points attempts, the Rams took control when back-to-back three’s from Ronnie Moss sparked a 15-2 run that gave TWU a 34-22 edge.  The Rams went on to lead 36-29 at the break.
 
Texas Wesleyan outshot Bacone 48%-31% from the field, but hit just 28% (4-of-14) long range attempts.
 
In the second half, a two-handed slam from Moss finished off an 11-1 run that put the game away at 61-39 with 9:21 to play.  The lead hovered around 20 points for the remainder of the contest as the Rams finished off the 76-59 win.
 
For the game, the Rams hit at a 46% clip from the field (in spite of 21% long range shooting) while holding the Warriors to a paltry 28.2%. 
 
Moss finished with a double-double on 24 points and 10 assists, while Eric Frederick poured in a game-high 29 points.  While combining on 53 points, Moss and Frederick did not miss from inside the three-line hitting a perfect 16-of-16.  Brian Talley added 10 points for the Rams.
 
Bacone was led by James Scott’s 17 point, eight rebound effort.
 
“Any road win is a good win,” commented head coach Terry Waldrop.  “It’s good to bounce back and respond with 24 assists on 29 baskets.” 
 
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they host the Burge Alumni Classic.  Texas Wesleyan will take on Huston-Tillotson University in a 4:00 p.m. tip-off at the Sid Richardson Center.
