 FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s soccer team (3-3-1, 2-0 RRAC) leveled Texas College 5-2 at Martin Field on Saturday.
 
The Steers caught the Rams off guard early in the second minute with a goal from a defensive miscommunication.
 
The Rams came right back down to score in the fifth minute to tie the game with a Marin Jonij goal from Edvaldo Pedro.
 
Texas Wesleyan then captured the lead shortly after with a cross from Ivan Kovacevic that found the head of TJ Romaguera to make it 2-1 within the first ten minutes.
 
Ivan Kovacevic made it 3-1 with a good penalty kick after a foul in the box.
 
Despite Texas College winning the possession battle in the first half, the Rams did limiting the Steers opportunities, taking the 3-1 lead to halftime.
 
Things got a bit crazy in the second half, with too many fouls to keep up, nine yellow cards and a red card.
 
The mess that was the second half, started with the Texas College goalie being booked with a red card for touching the ball outside the box. This put the Steers a man down early in the second half.
 
The Rams exploited the short-handed Steers with goals from Hector Vargas, which was back heeled to him on a beautiful cross from Ivan Kovacevic.
 
The next goal was landed by Morgan Beach who beat the keeper to seal the 5-2 victory for the Rams.
 
The Rams travel to San Antonio, TX to play Our Lady of the Lake University on September, 27 starting at 1:00 pm.
