 FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (5-3-1, 2-0 RRAC) got passed Texas College 3-2 in overtime to pick up their second conference home win at Martin Field on Saturday.
 
The Lady Rams just did not seem themselves in the first half, playing flat the entire half.
 
The Lady Rams managed only one shot on goal in the first half, despite being awarded five corner kicks.
 
It was also a relatively quiet half with only a few fouls between the two teams in the meager nil-nil half.
 
The Lady Rams came out and pressed the Lady Steers. This paid off in the 58th minute when Leah Valtman laid in a ball that fooled the keeper to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Texas College put in the equalizer in what was simply a bad decision by the Wesleyan keeper.
 
The Lady Rams took the lead with under 20 minutes remaining, as Cynthia Calzada picked up her second goal in the match.
 
The Lady Rams led a furious attack against Texas College in the last 15 minutes of the contest.
 
In the 87th minute Lauren Kee fought past defenders and took a shot that found the net for the late equalizer. Zamora Bell notched the assist on the play.
 
The Lady Steers and Lady Rams took the 2-2 tie to overtime.
 
Texas Wesleyan wasted no time as Allison Walsh dribbled away from pressure and hit a magnificent cross to Lauren Kee for the golden goal to win the game three minutes into overtime.
 
The Lady Rams will take on Our Lady of the Lake University on September 27. That game is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start in San Antonio, TX.
