BROWNWOOD, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (2-0-1) got another resounding win, topping Howard Payne 4-0 on Tuesday.
The Lady Rams wasted no time getting on the board as Brianna Wilson put one past the keeper only a 1:22 in.
Kaeley Albus got in on the action when scored a goal from inside the box off of a deflected save.
Wilson and Albus hooked up for the third goal when Wilson hit the back of the net on a play in from Albus.
The Lady Rams took a healthy 3-0 lead into halftime. Wesleyan tallied 12 shots in the first period.
The second half was much of the same as the Lady Ram defense shut down Howard Payne, allowing only two shots.
Lauren Kee put an exclamation point on the night as she scored a goal on a ball played from Alexis Michaelkovic to make it a 4-0 match.
The Lady Rams outshot HPU 19-6. Wesleyan took six corner kicks to four. Rams were offsides one time in the match.
The Lady Rams will continue their road trip with a match against Wayland Baptist on Thursday, September 6. That match set for a 7:30 p.m. in Plainview, TX.
