Lady Rams Take Loss To Lady Chaps

LUBBOCK, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (3-1-1) fell 3-0 to Lubbock Christian University (5-0) on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Rams may have been a little stretched out, playing their fourth game in six days against the Lady Chaps.

The Lady Rams could not seem to stay in sync, allowing the Lady Chaps to score in the ninth minute to take an early 1-0 lead.

Both teams played aggressive, and neither team got many shots off in the first half. The shots were 6-1 in favor of LCU.

The Lady Chaps scored again in the 70th minute to make it a 2-0 match well into the second half.

Three minutes later, LCU made it a 3-0 cushion on a Ryann Blount goal.

The Rams only got six shots off in the second half, as Wesleyan could not get anything going, taking a 3-0 loss.

“We knew this might be coming with a young team playing four games in six days,” said head coach Josh Gibbs, “We didn’t play up to the standard that we set the last three games, we had no spark. We have to put this one behind us and prepare for USAO.”

The Lady Rams will come back home and play the University of Science and Arts (OK) on Tuesday, September 11th starting at 6:00 p.m.
