Box Score
SHAWNEE, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (12-4-2) scored a 4-2 victory at Oklahoma Baptist University (9-8) in Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal action on Saturday.

OBU put the pressure on with an early goal when Taler Campbell found Nicol Lagos for a strike in the 12th minute.  Alexis Michaelkovich then took over.  The junior from Colorado Springs, CO, tied the game in the 19th minute and then scored on an assist from Jessica Watton in the 33rd minute.

Three minutes into the second half, Michaelkovich completed her hat trick, again off an assist from Watton.  OBU kept the pressure on throughout the second half with 16 shots, including eight on target.  Watton scored in the 74th minute on an assist from Michaelkovich to push the score to 4-1.

Campbell scored for the Bison in the 80th minute, but it was not enough as Texas Wesleyan came away with the 4-2 win.

"This was a great team win," said head coach Josh Gibbs.  "Obviously, we were dangerous in the final third, but our back line and midfield were incredible too.  OBU pushed us for ninety minutes.  Alexis was incredible for us tonight.  Everything went through her, and she made the most of the opportunities."

Nikki Lockwood (11-4-2) came up with 10 saves, including seven in the second half, to preserve the win.  OBU's JJ Kosa made four saves for the Bison.

Michaelkovic's hat trick was the third of the season for Texas Wesleyan, while her seven points are the most by a single player since Paige Wheaton's 10 against Wiley College last season.

With the win, Texas Wesleyan advances to Tuesday's semifinal round.  The fifth seeded Rams will travel to Oklahoma City, OK, to take on top-seeded Oklahoma City University.  In their lone meeting this season, the Stars took a 2-0 win over Texas Wesleyan.
