Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARION, IN: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (6-2) split the day but had another successful tournament going 3-1 in the Indiana Wesleyan/Taylor University Crossover Tournament with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-14) loss to #17 Indiana Wesleyan University (5-3) before taking a five set match win (26-24, 20-25, 25-13, 15-25, 15-10) against Olivet Nazarene University (2-5) on Saturday.
 
The Lady Rams, after taking two highly competitive wins yesterday, continued the uphill battle on the road running into a very good Indiana Wesleyan team. Texas Wesleyan held a slight lead early in the first set before the Lady Wildcats took a small 11-8 lead on a couple Ram errors. Alex Hendee tied the game at 14-14 with a kill from Stephanie Dominguez. Indiana Wesleyan used an 11-4 run to take a 25-18 first set win
 
Texas Wesleyan battled the Lady Wildcats in the second set, tying the game nine times with the last time being at 20-20 on a Abigail Zipoy kill, before Indiana Wesleyan used the home crowd to sneak past the Lady Rams 25-23.
 
The Lady Wildcats just had more in the tank in the third set using the momentum from the first two, while the home crowd fueled Indiana Wesleyan to a 25-14 set to seal the win in the match.
 
Zipoy led the Lady Rams with 11 kills. Lauren Hitchinson added 17 digs, while Dominguez took 17 assists in the match. Rosenbusch put up consistent numbers with eight kills with a .538 hitting percentage.
 
Olivet Nazarene gave everything they had in the night cap, but the Lady Rams gave more, battling the entire five set match. The two teams traded blows, with Wesleyan taking an important first set win 26-24. The Lady Tigers tied the match with a 25-20 win in the second set, before Wesleyan dominated the third set 25-13. Olivet Naz evened the match again with a 25-15 win in the fourth set, but the Lady Rams stayed strong, taking a 15-10 fifth set for the 3-2 win.
 
The Lady Rams will host the Wesleyan-Hughes Classic Tournament starting with a match against Briar Cliff University on September 6 starting at 2:00 pm. Texas Wesleyan will take on Embry-Riddle University on the same day at 7:00 pm.
