Rams Blank Scots, 2-0

BATESVILLE, AR: The Texas Wesleyan University men's soccer team (6-0) took a second consecutive shutout win over a team receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll. This time it was a 2-0 victory over the Lyon College Scots (2-2-2).

The Rams, who were also receiving votes in the latest NAIA Poll, were coming off of a 3-0 win over the University of St. Thomas Houston on Wednesday.

For the third time this season, the Kovacevic brothers connected for a goal. In the 13th minute, the Kovacevic's staked Texas Wesleyan to an early lead when Marin Kovacevic played a ball from left to right that found Ivan Kovacevic for the game's first goal.

In the second half, the Rams again struck quickly. In the 48th minute, David Hagen assisted Alejandro Rivas for an insurance goal.

Arnold Martinez (5-0) made three saves to record his third shutout of the season. His counterpart, Rob Brown made five stops for the Scots.

The Rams will need to bounce back quickly as they take on NCAA Division II Harding University in Searcy, AR, tomorrow afternoon. That game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
