Rams and Tornados Battle to 0-0 Draw

Box Score

FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (4-0-1) remained undefeated after battling Concordia University Texas (1-1-1) to a scoreless draw on Sunday.

The Lady Rams started slowly, mustering just three shots on goal in the first half.

In the second half, the pressure improved. In the 85th and 87th minute Lauren Kee and Alexi Ellsworth took shots from the near left wing, but Concordia's Megan Frontiera was up to the task both times. In the 88th minute Chastity Carrillo had the Tornados' best look of the game, but her attempt from the far right wing hit the cross bar.

Nikki Lockwood (4-0-1) recorded her fourth shutout of the season with three saves on the day. Frontiera finished with eight stops for Concordia.

The Rams outshot the Tornados 13-11 for the day.

"We were outworked by a well-coached team today," commented head coach Josh Gibbs. "It was not our day, but the good news is we have a break coming up. We need the preparation."

The Lady Rams are off until September 21, when they host Lubbock Christian University. That game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.
