FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (6-6, 2-2 SAC) picked a dominant 80-59 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (7-7, 1-3 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Thursday night.

Liz Handy made it a 34-22 advantage with less than five minutes remaining in the half.  Wesleyan took a 39-29 lead at the break. The Lady Rams turned the ball over 13 times, but overcame the difficulties by out-rebounding the Lions 39-29 and shooting 60 percent from the field.

The Lady Rams virtually eliminated the turnovers in the second half and continued to win the rebound battle, as SAGU continued their poor shooting effort. Wesleyan maintained healthy lead throughout the second half, and midway through the second half the Rams got a 15 point 57-42 lead with anÂ
Amy Moody layup. Wesleyan breezed to the win from there, taking the 80-59 victory.

The Lady Rams shot 54 percent from the field, 55 percent from behind the arc, and 50 percent from the free throw line. The Lady Lions shot only 31 percent from the field, a worse 15 percent from the three point line, and 60 percent from the charity stripe.

Moody led all players with 22 points, and added 10 assists for a double-double.Â
