CEDAR HILL, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (7-6, 3-2 SAC) notched their second win of the week with a 64-54 effort over Northwood University (7-8, 0-5 SAC) at the Nutting Arena on Saturday.

Takoia Larry made it an 11-6 with a three point shot in the early goings.Â
ToiEasha Cooper made it an eight point game at 23 -15 with a drive through the lane lay-in. The Knights battled back to make it a 25-22 game with 3:51 remaining in the first half. Texas Wesleyan got back a healthy lead before the break taking a 33-25 lead.

The Knights just had a very less than mediocre night from the floor which was even more evident in the second half as the Lady Rams handled a more than ten point lead throughout most of the second half. Their biggest lead was a 16-point 50-34 advantage with 8:01 remaining in the game. It was less than smooth sailing from there, but the Lady Rams grabbed the 64-54 win on the road.

The Lady Rams were rescued from their turnover woes again with consistent shooting. Wesleyan shot 52 percent from the floor, while their counterpart shot only 25 percent. TWU outscored the Lady Knights 32-22 in the paint, and in second chance points 12-5. The Rams also out-rebounded their opponent 47-25.

Amy Moody led the Lady Rams with 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals.Â
Kayla McCray notched 12 points, behind nine boards in the win. Larry posted 10 points and nine rebounds for Wesleyan.

The Lady Rams come home to take on the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma on Monday, January 13. Tip-off is set for a 5:30 pm start at the Sid Richardson Center.
