There was defense aplenty as the Lady Rams struggled to hit from the field, but neither team was able to create any easy buckets. Wesleyan kept fighting, cutting the lead to single digits on a
Krissy Parker free throw to make it 23-11 with2:40 to go. The Rams were able to balance their shooting woes by consistently getting to the free throw line, keeping the lead from growing and heading into the break at 27-18.
Texas Wesleyan cut the lead 29-22 with a
Kayla McCray layup early in the second half, trying to spark a comeback. The home crowd and the Lady Lions were too determined for that to happen. SAGU locked up on defense, while playing smart on the offensive side. The Lions made a 5-0 run capped by a Monica Dorsey two pointer for a 15 point, 51-36 advantage.
Liz Handy answered, knocking down a three pointer, but SAGU kept forcing their way to the bucket. Nolisa grabbed a bucket behind the line to make it a 55-42 deficit. However, Wesleyan could never make a big enough run to cut into the lead, dropping the game 63-47.

Nolisa led the Rams with 13 points and eight boards. McCray tallied 12 points and nine rebounds.
