CHICKASHA, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (11-13, 3-5 SAC) dropped a 6-0 game one before getting edged 2-1 in game two against No. 21 University of Science and Arts at Bill Smith Ballpark on Friday.

The Lady Rams were held to only three hits in game one as the blazing hot Drovers shutout Wesleyan by a score of 6-0. Texas Wesleyan faced the smoldering Drover ace Summer Leitka, who is the NAIA leader in wins with 17.

Lauren Davis singled to left field in the third inning to break up no-hitter but could not produce any runs, trailing 4-0.

The Drovers added a run before
Kendall Kizer led off the top of the fourth with an infield single. Nothing came of the good start as Lady Rams fell behind 6-0.

Amber Tucker shot a ball into left center in the seventh, but the Drovers would secure the win.

A good old fashioned pitching duel broke out in the second game, with the two teams playing a pair of scoreless innings before the Lady Rams struck.
Courtney Kelley lined a single to third base.
Dani West reached first base on a bunt single.
Amber Tucker hit a RBI fielder's choice, and Wesleyan gained a 1-0 lead after Kelley scored on the play.

The Lady Rams held off the Drovers for three more innings, but Science and Arts made a move in the sixth. Dani Warren reached on a walk to start the inning and advanced to second on a fielder's choice play. A sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position. Shania Beck hit a ball deep enough down the right field line for a RBI sacrifice foul out to tie the game. Kayla Adams singled to left field to drive in the go ahead run before the Lady Rams could stop the inning.

Texas Wesleyan was unable to get the run back in the seventh, taking a hard to swallow 2-1 loss.

Lauren Wernet (2-4) pitched a very solid game despite the loss. She tossed six innings, allowed only two runs on five hits, walked one, and tallied one strikeout.

Kelley was a bright spot, going 3 for 3 in the game. Kizer, Tucker, and
Lauren Gunter all went 1 for 3 in the loss.

The Lady Rams will take the short drive to Oklahoma City, OK for a meeting with Mid-America Christian University tomorrow starting at noon. Â Â Â
