DALLAS, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (2-0) cruised to an easy 6-0 win at Dallas Christian College (0-1) on Friday.
The Lady Rams were on the board early and often as they dominated play from start to finish.
Kaitlin Bush got things started when she collected an attempted clear by the DCC goalkeeper and scored just under five minutes into the contest. Five minutes later,
Shrareh Asadi sent a cross from the left side that
Kailene Allis deposited into the net. That would be a theme for the game as Asadi racked up four assists from the left wing.
In the 22nd minute,
Theresa Garsztecki scored on a feed from Asadi to push the score to 3-0. Garsztecki started the second half scoring in the 53rd minute when she converted a free kick from the top of the box.
Amber Galvan notched her first collegiate goal in the 72nd minute, and Allis capped the scoring in the 83rd minute. Both of the final two goals were assisted by Asadi.
For the game, the Rams outshot the Crusaders 30-2, allowing Dallas Christian just one shot in each half.
Nikki Lockwood (2-0) was untested in the shutout victory.
The Rams will return to action on Friday, September 11, when they host the University of Houston-Victoria. That game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.
