WAXAHACHIE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (4-1) took a dominant 83-62 win over the University of the Southwest (0-7) in the SAGU Classic on Saturday.

The Lady Rams sprinted out of the gate, knocking down three consecutive shots capped by a
Falesha Fuller fast break layup for a 6-0 lead. The starting five went 7 for 11 to start the game and ran the lead to 20-7 on a
Katelynn Threats layup midway through the opening quarter.
Nicole Gleason lit up the scoreboard after nailing a triple to make it a 14-point game. The Lady Rams finished the quarter with a 28-14 advantage.

Bailey Broadnax helped the Rams to 6-0 rally at the start of the second quarter to make it a 40-21 lead. Texas Wesleyan continued the onslaught and
Tatyanna Bradley put in a two-pointer before the buzzer to make it a 50-32 game at halftime.

It was all Lady Rams in the second half, as
Bria Jackson got a tip-in to go to make it a 57-32 game with 7:20 remaining in the quarter. Broadnax blocked a shot and
Lorian Benjamin took the rebound and went coast to coast for a 67-35 lead to head into the fourth.

The Mustangs shot well in the fourth and cut into the lead a bit, but Wesleyan kept plugging away. Gleason knocked down another three-point to stop the Southwest attack. The Mustangs put up a 7-2 run at the end of the quarter to make it an 83-62 win.

The Lady Rams outshot their opponent from the field 47 percent to 24 percent. Wesleyan also took a 47-37 rebound clip. Rams also shot 40 percent from behind the arc.

Fuller put in 15 points and swiped four away from Southwest. Broadnax had 10 points and eight boards. Threats posted 10 points in the win.

The Lady Rams will take a trip to Houston, TX for a meeting with the University of the St. Thomas on Sunday, November 27 starting at 2:00 pm.
