WAXAHACHIE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball season came to an end with a 72-47 loss to St. Gregory's University in the first round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament at the Schaefer Center on Wednesday.

Chervelle Cox started the game by hitting a jumper in the paint, and
Falesha Fuller fooled that up a swipe and fast break layup for a 6-2 lead. The Cavaliers responded with a 13-2 run until the end of the quarter for a 17-10 advantage.

St. Gregory's opened the second quarter by hitting a few perimeter shots, Kylee Tatum hit three shot from behind the arc, and the Cavaliers continued to rally to take a 36-22 lead into the break.

The Cavaliers kept a hefty double digit lead throughout the second half.
Leah Taylor knocked down a jumper with two minutes remaining in the third quarter to make it a 62-41. SGU continued to attack the rim on the offensive end and cruised to a 72-47 win.

St. Gregory's outshot the Rams 46 percent to 27 percent from the floor. Texas Wesleyan did a great job on the boards though, out rebounding the Cavs 46-43. The Lady Rams bench also outscored the opposing bench, 25-11.

The Lady Rams were led by a 17 point effort from
Alycia Louallen. Cox grabbed 16 rebounds and eight points. Fuller posted six points and six boards in just 19 minutes of work.

The Lady Rams graduate two seniors;
Leila Jdily-Ezzad and
Onyesonam Nolisa, whose contributions and dedication to the Texas Wesleyan women's basketball program are greatly appreciated and will be missed.Â
