Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Rams Trample Tigers

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women's soccer team (3-4) delivered a dominating 11-0 win over Paul Quinn College (0-4) at Martin Field on Monday.

In a game that was played in intermittent showers and featured a lightning delay at halftime, the Rams dominated from start to finish.

Drea Molina started the onslaught just 3:14 into the game, marking her fourth consecutive goal for the Lady Rams.

The Lady Rams took 17 shots in the first half and scored seven of them.  Molina and Samantha Moore each scored a pair in the opening frame while Kailene Allis, Taylor Ross, and Hana Diaz all got in on the action as well.

Cat Smith added her second goal of the season 1:21 into the second half.  Taylor Ross then netted three in a row to give her four in the game.

The 11-0 margin was the program's largest since a 12-0 victory over LeTourneau University in 2013.

For the game, the Rams outshot PQC 26-3.  Nikki Lockwood (3-2) and Christy Zwart combined on the shutout.  Lockwood finished with a pair of saves.

The Rams will return to action on Thursday, when they host Wiley College.  That game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start at Martin Field.

Ramblings

- Molina scored three goals in the second half against Jarvis Christian and two in the first half against Paul Quinn, giving her five in 90 minutes of play.

- Ross is the first Lady Ram to score four goas in a game since Paige Wheaton accomplished the feat against Wiley in 2012.  Like Ross, Wheaton also added a pair of assists in that game.   The school record for points is held by Alejandra Barrera (2009) and Jessica Carrion (2002).

- This was the first meeting between the Rams and Tigers.  Texas Wesleyan is 1-0 all-time against Wiley (a 13-0 win in 2012).
