Ram Football

The Rams continue to make progress on the field, but are still searching for that first victory.  Last week, the Rams put 18 points on the board in the fourth quarter and outscored Bacone College 18-12 in the second half.  Unfortunately, they could not capitalize on early BC turnovers and fell by a final score of 33-18.

Texas Wesleyan outgained Bacone on the ground, 191-152, behind 85 yards from running back Jermarcus Jones and 72 yards from quarterback Erik Richards.  Richards made his first start at QB and delivered a touchdown pass and a touchdown run.

Punter Colby Reed continued to make a positive impact on special teams, and Jordan Sutherlin notched the Rams' first points of the day when he returned a blocked extra point 100 yards for a defensive two-point conversion.

The Scots are 2-5 on the season and 0-4 in CSFL play.  They have lost three consecutive conference games since issuing a 61-0 shellacking at Trinity Bible College on Sept. 16.

Running back Titus Nelson ran for 113 yards last week in a 56-17 loss to No. 18 Arizona Christian as the Scots picked up 192 of their 239 total yards on the ground.

The Scots are coached by Kyle Phelps in his second season.
