Ram Football
The Rams put together arguably their best performance of the year last week before falling by a final score of 21-14 at Lyon College (Batesville, AR). Texas Wesleyan held the lead until 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter, and then nearly succeeded in erasing a 21-7 deficit in the fourth quarter.
Jermarcus Jones became the team's first 100 yard rusher, picking up 104 yards on 18 carries. Jones also posted a touchdown run and a touchdown reception on the day. The Rams outgained the Scots in total yardage 233-212 thanks to 169 yards on the ground.
Paul Duckworth's defense allowed just two field goals through the first 44 minutes of the contest. The Rams got to the quarterback for three sacks including strip sacks by
Jordan Purnell and
Byron Tate in the first half.
