GOODWELL, OK: The Texas Wesleyan Football team (0-11, 0-8 CSFL) played its final game of the season on Saturday, eventually succumbing to Oklahoma Panhandle State University (7-3, 5-3 CSFL) by a final score of 65-6.
The Rams opened the game with a successful onside kick. However, the ensuing drive stalled at the OPSU 38 yard line after four plays and 2:29. The Aggies put a touchdown on the board on three of their first four drives to lead 20-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The Rams put together an eight-play 70-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter after an OPSU punt. The drive featured four first downs including runs of 5 and 12 yards from
Colton Wade.
Erik Richards capped the drive with a 30-yard TD pass to
Cole Maxwell.
OPSU sports the best running game in the CSFL, and that was on display on Saturday. The Aggies put up 274 yards on the ground led by 131 yards and a touchdown on seven carries from senior running back Cedric Agyeman. OPSU gained 572 yards of total offense while limiting the Rams to just 173 yards.
Maxwell had two catches for 37 yards and his third touchdown of the season.
Jermarcus Jones led the Rams with 36 yards on the ground. Richards threw for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Trey Jackson led the defense with 8.5 tackles including a tackle for loss.
Dewaun Colbert and
Dylan Briscoe each had 2.5 tackles for loss including a sack.
For the season,
Jermarcus Jones led the Rams with 710 yards rushing. Jones had one touchdown and a long run of 62 yards.
Kane Hardin had a team-high 633 yards passing, while
Erik Richards had 517 yards and a team-high 4 passing TD's.
Cole Maxwell led the Rams in receiving yards (230) and touchdowns (3).
Michael Miller led the team with 57 tackles.
Matthew Shelby had a team-high 13 tackles for loss and
Dylan Briscoe posted 3.5 sacks.
