ALEXANDRIA, LA: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (7-5) took an 11-8 loss to LSU-Alexandria (10-3) at Generals Field on Sunday.

The Generals built an 11-run lead in the first three innings, starting with an Alexes Sepulvado three-run home run to left in the second inning. LSUA followed that up with a seven run rally in the third. The Generals batted around and used six hits to extend the lead to 11.

The Lady Rams shut out the Generals in the final three innings and started to make up ground with five run fourth.
Bailey Terry doubled to left field to set up a
Samantha Vasquez RBI single down the right field line.
Brittany Rosenberry hit a sacrifice fly to left field to plate a run.
Shelby Reddington did a job with a fielder's choice bunt for a RBI.
Kayla Prachyl knocked in the fifth run to cut the lead to 11-5.

Texas Wesleyan added one run in the fifth after an error, and picked up two more in the sixth.
Samantha Bastien led-off the inning with a pinch hit single to center before Terry smacked a RBI double.
Brittany Rosenberry capped the drive with slap shot through left side to make it an 11-8 game heading into the final inning.

The Generals stopped the Lady Rams in the seventh to hold on to the 11-8 win.

Prachyl went 2 for 5 with one RBI and a stolen base. Terry went 2 for 3 with run batted in. Vasquez and Gunter went 2 for 3, while Kirkpatrick went 3 for 4.

Texas Wesleyan will go to Witchita, KS to play in the Friends University Tournament starting on March 3. Â
