DALLAS, TX: The 12th ranked Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (29-11) closed out a nine-game road swing with a decisive 12-0 win at Dallas Christian College on Wednesday.
The Rams, who went 5-4 on their marathon road trip, started the contest off with a two-run double from
Julio Ibarra in the top of the first inning.
Texas Wesleyan then put runs on the board in each of the last six innings.
Blake Seaton drove in two with a base-hit in the fourth. The fifth featured a solo home run from
Luis Roman and an RBI single from
CJ Ateek.
Hayden Muns and Ibarra drove in runs in the sixth. In the seventh,
Chase Sliva ripped an RBI triple and
Casey Moses followed with an RBI single to push the score to 10-0.
Chandler Schoelkopf added an RBI single in the eighth. In the ninth, Sliva led off with a single and later scored on a grounder from
Dylan Measells.
Five Texas Wesleyan hurlers combined to hold DCC scoreless on just four hits.
Parker Robinson (1-1) picked up the win with three scoreless innings. He allowed only one hit while striking out two.
Chandler Muckleroy struck out three in his 1.2 innings of work.
Evan Rogers got the start and delivered two scoreless innings, while
Chris Terry worked 1.1 scoreless and
Alex Davis worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
The Rams racked up 17 hits in the game while 12 different players had at least one hit and the two who did not record a hit did drive in a run.
The Rams return to Sycamore Park Thursday and Friday for a Sooner Athletic Conference series with St. Gregory's University. Game one is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start on Thursday, while Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start.
