FORT WORTH, TX: The 13th ranked Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (40-11, 18-5 SAC) swept an SAC doubleheader from Southwestern Christian University (34-19, 10-13 SAC) at Sycamore Park on Friday. The Rams won with scores of 4-0 and 9-0.
The sweep came on Senior Day at Sycamore Park. Ten Rams are playing their final home series.

Blake Seaton have all made outstanding contributions to the Texas Wesleyan baseball program, while leading the team to its ninth 40-win season.
In game one, the Rams took advantage of a couple of Eagle miscues as well as singles from
Kiki Menendez and
Casey Moses to take a 2-0 lead in the second.
A two-out two-run double from Moses gave
Stephen Yancey some breathing room in the sixth.
Yancey (9-3) however, did not need the extra support. The junior from North Richland Hills, notched his second consecutive shutout, allowing five hits and no runs through seven innings. In a three-game stretch, Yancey has strung together 16.1 consecutive shutout innings.
After honoring the ten seniors in between games, the offense exploded for nine runs on ten hits in game two.
A two-out two-run single from
Kiki Menendez capped a three-run third inning.
Julio Ibarra drove in a run in the fourth to make it 4-0.
The Rams batted around in the fifth inning, plating four runs on five hits.

Julio Ibarra, and
Alex Gudac all had RBI singles during the rally.
Chandler Schoelkopf doubled and scored in the sixth to cap the scoring at 9-0.
Senior
Alex Lopez (8-2) began the day by performing the national anthem and finished the day by turning in his third shutout of the season. It was Lopez's eighth complete game effort of the year. He scattered seven hits while walking one and striking out three.
Nine of the ten seniors saw action on Friday, while
Wade Regas is scheduled to start the series finale on Saturday. The seven position players in the group combined to go 4-for-12 at the plate with four RBI and three runs scored in game two.
Saturday's series finale has been moved to an 11:00 a.m. start with inclement weather expected in the area.
Ramblings
- Texas Wesleyan leads the all-time series with SCU 8-4. The Rams are now 64-33 (.681) all-time in SAC play.
- Yancey lowered his season ERA to 2.71, while Lopez dropped his mark to 3.40.
- Texas Wesleyan's 50 home runs this season are the program's most since hitting 55 in 2010.

Caden Williams extended his current hitting streak to 10 games, marking his second streak of double-figures this season.
- The Rams have secured second place in the SAC standings and will be the second seed in next weekend's SAC Tournament. A share of the SAC Regular Season Championship is still in reach as they currently trail No. 1 Oklahoma City by one game with one game to play. OCU will be the tournament's top-seed however, by virtue of a head-to-head tiebreaker with Texas Wesleyan.
