KOHLER, Wis. – The Texas Wesleyan University men's golf team ran away with its third straight win at the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Victor Miron took the individual championship at 2-over in the 36-hole tournament.
Miron wins his first collegiate tournament after a 71-75-146 performance. He was especially good on par three's and par five's, going -1 and -2 respectively in those categories. He also poured in eight birdies in the tournament.
Rowan Lester put in seven birdies throughout the event and finished in a share of second after posting a 71-77-148 scorecard.
Declan Kenny shared second with teammate Lester, tallying a 72-76-148 card.
Lester and Kenny were honored with all-tournament team nods.
Midland University and host Taylor trailed the Rams by 20 strokes for a share of second, while Sterling and Bellevue rounded out the top 5 out of the 16 team field.
The Rams will look to continue its dominance at the Southern Plains Intercollegiate hosted by Oklahoma City University. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is scheduled for Monday, October 29 at Gaillardia Country Club.
