Texas Wesleyan goes for its first win on the football field Saturday against Texas College, who narrowly defeated the Rams last season 21-11 in one of Texas Wesleyan's few glimpses at triumph.

This is Texas College's first game of the season, after finishing 2017, 2-8 - their one win on the field coming against the Rams (plus the Wayland Baptist forefit).

Texas Wesleyan has squeaked their way into the top 50 nationally on special teams, ranking 34th in punt return yards per attempt (9.0), 48th in kickoff return yards per attempt (19.3) and 48th in punt yards per attempt (35.9).
Tyler Pullig has been most responsible in kickoff returns, averaging 27 yards per return.

Chijoke Iwuagu has been the defenses biggest threat up front, 23rd in the NAIA averaging 1.8 tackles for loss per game.
