MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (17-23, 12-12 SAC) completed a season sweep of Bacone College (1-25, 0-24 SAC) at Warrior Field. The Lady Rams tallied 32 hits in 16-0 and 13-0 run-rule wins on Friday.
Makenna Aycock (9-13) picked up a pair of wins after holding Bacone to just six hits on the day, while striking out a total of 19 batters. The senior from Tyler, Texas matched a career-high 10 punch-outs in game one. She now has 110 strikeouts this season.
Lacy Mann led the way offensively, going 4 for 6 with four RBI. The sophomore transfer leads the team with a .418 batting average.
Savannah Brixey also lit up the scoreboard, going 4 for 8 with five RBI for the day. The junior from Caddo Mills, Texas fired a bases clearing 3-run triple in game one.
Bailey Terry added another home run, her seventh of the season, adding to her dominant career total of 35. She went 2 for 5 with three RBI on the day.
The last time the team had more than 17 hits in a game was on March 15, 2015 in a 17-13 win over Valley City State (N.D.)
The Lady Rams will stay on the road for a conference matchup with Central Christian on Wednesday, April 17 starting at 3:00 p.m.
