About the Rams:

After dropping their first league contest to Wayland Baptist 78-75, the (4-1, 1-1 SAC) Rams bounced back to nab their first SAC win of the year against Oklahoma Panhandle State 95-69 on Monday.

Now the Rams will travel for the first time this year holding a 4-1 overall record.

6-1 junior guard Peyton Sallee leads the team in scoring (19.6 ppg) and is currently the nation's best 3-pt shooter, at a 73.7 percent clip. He is 22-for-30 from the arc in five games this season. Sallee is also leads the team in assists (2.60 apg) and steals (2.0 spg).

Three other Rams are averaging double figures in scoring in Vydal Bradford (16.2 ppg), Christopher Coley (10.4 ppg), and David Shepard (10.0 ppg).

6-8 senior forward/center Sebastian Karwoski leads TXWES at the glass with 6.40 rebounds per game and 1.40 blocks per game.

As a team, TXWES nationally ranks No. 10 in Scoring Offense per Game (93.0) and in 3-Pt Fg Pct (41.4).

In SAC play, TXWES is first in Scoring offense per game, field goal percentage offense (49.8), 3-pt percentage offense (41.4), total defensive rebound per game (32.8), steals per game (10.6), and turnover margin (+3.0).

Last Time Out:

Peyton Sallee scored a season high 29 points in the Texas Wesleyan Men's Basketball team's 95-69 conference win over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Monday night.

The junior from Fort Worth, Texas shot 9-for-10 from behind the arc and bested his season high score by one point when he last netted 28 vs. Dallas Christian on October 26, 2020. Sallee tops the SAC leader board for 3-point shooting percentage and before tonight's game was ranked No. 4 in the NAIA in the same category.

Sebastian Karwoski also highlighted with a career high 4 blocks against the Aggies. His previous best was 2 against Southwestern Assemblies of God last season. The senior forward also scored 12 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double.

Additionally, Ryan Flores scored 12 of his own, and Francis Doe rounded out the double-digit scoring Rams with 11 points. Sallee and Davon Berry also had three steals each.

Scouting the Golden Eagles:
The Golden Eagles played their first game of the season this week, falling to undefeated USAO 91-79 in Chickasha, Okla. John Brown trailed the entire game and shot 40 percent from the field to the Drover's 40 percent.

The Golden Eagles did make two more treys than USAO netting 13. John Brown struggled at the line, going 14-for-24, meanwhile the Drovers shot 90 percent at the stripe missing just two free throws.

John Brown had five players finish in double figures in Noah Taylor (15 points), Densier Carnes (14), Ira Perrier (12), DJ Ellis (12) and Alex Kinsey (10).

John Brown was shorthanded during the game, missing seasoned veterans in junior Luke Harper, senior Rokas Grabliauskas and sophomore Nemanja Obradovic.

The History:
TXWES leads John Brown 10-6 in the overall series. The Rams are 3-4 in Siloam Springs.  The team's first matchup was Jan. 4, 2014 when TXWES won 99-91 in overtime. Their most recent faceoff was on Feb. 26, 2020, and the Rams won 69-56 in Fort Worth.

Looking Forward:
The Rams will continue their road trip traveling to No. 22 USAO in Chickasha, Oklahoma where they are 4-4 against the Drovers. Overall, the Rams trail the series 11-13.
