CHICKASHA, Okla. – The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball team (1-3, 1-2 SAC) fell 72-49 to University of Science & Arts Oklahoma (7-2, 4-0 SAC) after the USAO pulled away with a big fourth quarter at Drover Fieldhouse on Thursday.
TXWES had no answer for Zaria Dorsey, who led all scorers with 31 points, adding 15 rebounds in the process.
The Lady Rams shot just 12 percent in that final frame, after trailing by five points at the half, and nine points after three quarters played.
USAO took care of home court to the tune of +15 in rebounding. USAO was also +10 in points in the paint and +15 in second chance points.
The Lady Rams were led by
Makayla Coy, who notched her sixth career double-double with 14 points and 14 boards.
Hailee Walls contributed 14 points in the loss in her first appearance since November 7 at Central Christian.
Alexus Brigham reached double digits with 11 points, while
Evie Whorley picked up eight rebounds in the contest. The guard is averaging 11.5 rebounds per game through four games in this early season.
TXWES women's basketball will come back home to take on Mid-America Christian University on Saturday, January 23. The Evangels and Lady Rams will tip-off at 2 p.m. from the Sid Richardson Center.
