FORT WORTH, Texas-- The Texas Wesleyan Women's Soccer team defeated Southwest Christian 3-0 in the final match of the regular season on Monday night at Martin Field.

The Lady Rams bounced back from a 5-2 loss on the road against Central Christian College in Kansas where they struggled to stop the Lady Tigers offense. TXWES bounced back in a big way on Monday night with a shutout.

The Lady Rams offense started the game strong as senior
Tameir Grosvenor found the back of the net in the 6th minute of the game to give TXWES a 1-0 lead. 14 minutes later in the 20th minute, senior
Marlye Francis blasted her 5th goal of the season into the back of the net to give TXWES a commanding 2-0 lead.

The Lady Rams outshot the Lady Eagles 10 to 3 on goal. Senior keeper
Julia Villalobos recorded 3 saves in the game. Villalobos also recorded her first shutout of the season as the Lady Rams backline was very stout and did not allow the Lady Eagles to take many shots on goal.

The Lady Rams cemented their victory in the 85th minute when senior
Tameir Grosvenor blasted her second goal of the game into the back of the net on an assist by senior
Savanna Barron to give TXWES a 3-0 lead.

The Lady Rams offense dominated the game as they earned 7 corner kicks in the match.

TXWES ends the regular season with their third win in conference play to move to 8-6-2 overall and 3-5-1 in league play. The Lady Rams finish the regular season in 7th place in the Sooner Athletic Conference, drawing 2-seed University of Science and Arts in the opening round of TXWES the SAC tournament. Higher seeds host each round of the tournament beginning on Saturday, Nov. 6.
