FORT WORTH, Texas-- The Texas Wesleyan Men's Basketball team (6-2) overcame a two-point halftime deficit to defeat Jarvis Christian College (3-3) 73-53 on Saturday afternoon at the Sid Richardson Center.
TXWES played gritty defense as they held the Bulldogs to 24 points in the second half. The Bulldogs shot 22 of 60 from the field (36 percent.) The Rams controlled the paint as they outrebounded the Bulldogs 40 to 31. TXWES also outscored JCC in the paint 40 to 21.
Junior Kristan Lafayette dominated the paint as he recorded a double-double, recording 21 points and 18 rebounds. Senior
Vydal Bradford scored 16 points on 7 of 16 shooting from the field (43 percent.)
The Rams shot 27 of 66 from the field (40 percent.) TXWES struggled from beyond the arc as they only shot 4 of 19 on three-point attempts. The Rams move to 23-13 all-time against JCC.
The Rams will travel to Oklahoma City on Thursday, Dec. 2 to take on MACU in an SAC matchup.
