FORT WORTH – The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (24-5) advanced to the semifinal of the SAC tournament after a 3-0 quarterfinal win over University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (12-20) at the Sid Richardson Center on Tuesday.
 
The SAC regular season champs, playing as the 1-seed, topped the 8-seed Drovers behind .314 hitting on 44 kills.
 
The team will face Wayland Baptist in Abe Lemons Arena on Friday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. in the semifinal match.
 
The Lady Rams were methodical in sets one and two, hitting .464 to lead off the match before the Drovers tightened up defensively in the second and third sets. TXWES responded in kind, out digging the Drovers 39-23 and winning some long rallies to keep the challengers at bay.
 
Bailey Foy was as efficient as ever, posting a 14-1-19 line on .684 hitting. Her lone error coming on a creative short corner, off-speed tip from the right end of the net that just missed the intended mark.
 
Morgan Burns earned her tenth double-double of the season behind 37 assists and 11 digs. She has 1,011 assists in 2021. Nyia Anderson tacked on 11 kills in the win. Skylar Warde led all players with 12 digs. Andrea Malek led all players with a pair of aces.
 
The team has now won 15 consecutive matches.
