FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Wesleyan Women's Basketball team had trouble defending the deep ball as John Brown defeated the Lady Rams 70-62 on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles made 11 treys while shooting 47.8 percent from the arc to edge TXWES 5-for-20 effort.

The Lady Rams trailed the entire game but put together a 11-4 rally to start the 4
th quarter, inching within 1 point of JBU with 6:40 remaining. From there, TXWES went cold, making only 4 of 14 buckets until the buzzer sounded.

TXWES did out-rebound the Golden Eagles 35 to 26.

Two Rams recorded double-doubles in
Evie Whorley and
Makayla Coy. Whorley had a great game, finishing with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Coy nabbed her 9
th double-double of the year on 10 points and 10 boards.

Hailee Walls had a team high 16 points.
Lindsey Thorpe added 15 points, 7 of which came in the fourth period. She also had a season high 3 blocks.

JBU was led by Tarrah Stephens with 32 points.

The Lady Rams drop to 1-10 overall and 1-9 in the SAC. JBU is 5-3 on the year and in the league.

TXWES will not play this Monday, Feb. 15 due to expected inclement weather. Their next game they will host Langston at 6 pm on Feb. 18.
