MACU struggled from the arc all game and after 18 straight misses, they finally connected to complete a 9-point run and take their first lead of the game, 51-50, with nine minutes left in regulation.

The Rams built their advantage back to two possessions with 2:23 to go, but a 7-1 Evangel run tied the game at 62 under a minute on the clock. During that final minute, TXWES retained possession but missed a jumper and two free throws sending the game into overtime.
