VB streaks to third straight sweep; win 3-0 vs CCCK

Morgan Burns posted a career-high 8 aces in the win

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Wesleyan volleyball team (9-2, 4-1 SAC) made short work of SAC opponent Central Christian College (Kan.) (2-17, 0-5) in a 3-0 sweep at the Sid Richardson Center on Saturday afternoon.  
 
The Lady Rams smashed the ball and finished the match hitting .358 behind heavy hitters Nyia Anderson (9 kills), Bailey Foy (9 kills), and Sydney Charlton (7 kills).
 
Defensively, Veronika Webb led all players with 6.0 blocks in the match, including a pair of solo blocks. Andrea Malek led all players with 10 digs, adding seven kills in the all-around effort.
 
Morgan Burns stayed consistent, distributing the ball to a tune of 34 assists, while notching a career-high eight assists in the win. She was dangerously close to a triple double, adding seven digs as well.
 
The would-be national leader in hitting percentage, Foy had a hitting line of 9-0-14, hitting .643 in the win. She is currently hitting .481 for the season, but is not ranked because the minimum standard to qualify for national ranking is 5.0 attacks per set. Foy is currently a 4.91.
 
At 3-1 in conference play, TXWES volleyball sits in fourth in the standings with six matches left in the season.
 
The team is set to travel to Chickasha, Okla. for a bout with the University of Science & Arts on Monday, March 6. That contest set for a 6 p.m. start. The Lady Rams will return to The Sid on Thursday, March 11 to play MACU at 6 p.m.
