OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Texas Wesleyan Baseball team fell in a pair of games at the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, dropping a 7-3 game to Wayland Baptist and an 8-6 contest to Southwestern Assemblies of God on Friday.

The losses eliminate the Rams (27-16, 15-6 SAC) from the SAC tournament. The Rams finished the regular season third in the league, sweeping SAC foes MACU, SAGU, CCCK and OPSU.Â

They graduate eight seniors who contributed significantly to the program in
Drew Sancillo,
Brayden Bahnsen,
Ryne Randle,
Kaden Brown,
Garrett Moltzan,
JD Valle,
Matt Moclair and
Max Martinez. Together these seniors are responsible for over 120 wins including a 46-win season in 2019.

In their tournament opening game with WBU,
Joseph Barfield and
Carson Cheaney had a pair of hits and batted in one run each.
Kaden Brown was responsible for the other RBI.
Jalen Evans started on the hill, pitching 7 innings allowing 11 hits with 7 runs— only 3 were earned.
Matt Moclair pitched the last frame flawlessly with 2 strikeouts.

WBU's (25-23) pitcher, Tanner Solomon, pitched a complete game allowing 8 hits and had 6 strikeouts.

TXWES had a 6-4 lead over SAGU until the Lions went on a 4-run rally in the seventh inning from which the Rams could not recover.

Kaden Brown had two hits each. Randle batted in a team best 2 runs and crossed the plate twice himself.
Greyson Barrett,
Brayden Bahnsen and
Marcos Sanchez all hit an RBI double.

Max Martinez went six innings allowing 9 hits and 6 runs with 5 strikeouts. Moclair pitched a frame for 2 hits and 1 run.
Stephen Roberts finished the contest's final frame allowing just one hit.

USAO, Mid-America Christian, Oklahoma City and WBU all advance in the tournament to Saturday with the two remaining playing for the championship title on Monday, May 10 in Chickasha, Okla.
