CHICKASHA, OK.—The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball team (19-3, 13-3 SAC) defeated the University of Science and Arts (17-6, 11-5) 67-58 on Monday night.

Junior Na'Teiona Cole tied the program record for most assists in a single game with 12. The previous record was set by J'Tierra Brown in the 2012-2013 season and Mindie Markham in the 1989-1990 season. 

The Lady Rams played disruptive defense as they held the Drovers to 20 of 67 shooting from the field (29 percent,) and 3 of 15 from beyond the arc (20 percent.)

The Lady Rams held their opponent to under 60 points for the 10th time this season. The Lady Rams were tenacious in the passing lanes as they recorded 6 steals. TXWES also recorded 3 blocks.

The Lady Rams continued their dominance in the paint as they out-rebounded USAO 62 to 49, also scoring 17 second chance points, and 26 points in the paint. 

TXWES passed the ball tremendously as they recorded 20 assists. The Lady Rams shot 14 of 18 from the free-throw line (77 percent,) and shot 25 of 80 from the field (31 percent.) 

Freshman Zarria Carter recorded her 9th double-double of the season with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Junior Na'Teiona Cole turned in an outstanding performance with a near triple double as she recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. She was 1 of 5 Lady Rams that scored at least 10 points. Carter scored 21 points, Cole scored 12, junior Makayla Coy scored 11 points, senior Hailee Walls scored 10 points, and junior Kertisa Amos scored 10 points. 

With their 19th win of the season, the Lady Rams have now won the most games in the program since the 2016-2017 season. 

The Lady Rams move to 10-9 all-time against USAO. The Lady Rams hit the road to Oklahoma on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. to take on Langston University.
