The Texas Wesleyan Lady Rams opened the Our Lady of the Lady Classic with a 74-45 shellacking of Louisiana State University-Alexandria.

The Lady Rams had three players in double figures for the game, and
Makayla Coy, who led all scorers with 16 points, just missed a double-double, also nabbing eight rebounds.
Taryn Wills scored 14 points and nabbed five rebounds, while
Keara Felix scored 10 points and nabbed four rebounds.Â

The Lady Rams continued to dominate on the boards out rebounding LSU-Alexandria 36-23. Texas Wesleyan is second in the nation in rebounding margin with an average of 16.2 rebounds over their opponents per game.Â

Texas Wesleyan outscored the LSUA Generals every quarter, but it was the second and third quarters when they put the game out of reach for the Generals, who had trouble from the field, shooting 36.1% overall, managing only eight buckets from the field in the 2
nd, 3
rd and 4
th quarters.Â

The Lady Rams move to 10-1 overall after the win, with their only loss coming to LSU-Shreveport early in the season.Â

In the last five games, Texas Wesleyan has showed consistent improvement. Coy has logged three double-doubles in the last five games and has scored in double figures in all but three games this season.
Zarria Carter has also scored in double figures in all but three games this season and has logged four double-doubles thus far. Willis has also scored in double figures all but three games this season, including the last five games.Â

Four Lady Rams are averaging over 10 points per game with Carter at 16.8 points per game, Â
Kertisa Amos at 13.8 points per game, Coy at 12.7 points per game and Wills at 12 points per game.

The Lady Rams continue play at Our Lady of the Lake Classic Saturday, Dec. 31, when they face the home team OLLU Saints at 2 p.m. Texas Wesleyan returns home on Jan. 2 to continue SAC play against Mid-America Christian University. The Lady Rams sit atop SAC at 6-0.Â
