FORT WORTH – The Texas Wesleyan softball team (5-5, 2-0 SAC) started conference play with a pair of 9-1 run-rule wins over Southwestern Christian (5-5, 1-5 SAC) at Sycamore Park on Tuesday.
Taylor Tubbs and
Dylann Kaderka made a good 1-2 punch once again after dispelling preseason #7 Ottawa last week. Today, the two pitchers limited the Eagles to a combined two runs on 10 hits.
Tubbs (3-1) got the game one win, throwing all six innings, allowing one run on six hits. She issued just one walk while striking out five.
Kaderka (2-2) allowed one run (none earned) on four hits in her win. She allowed one walk while tallying six strikeouts.
On the offensive side,
Kylie Summers went 7 for 7 with five RBI on the day.
Breanna Leathers had good day at the plate, going 3 for 6 with two RBI.
The Lady Rams lead the all-time series 30-5.
Next up, TXWES will take part in the Langston University hosted Red Dirt Classic, March 3-5 in Oklahoma City. The Lady Rams take on Ottawa University for the third time on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. at Hall of Fame Stadium.
