The game started off with St. Francis taking a 7-6 lead early in the first quarter. TXWES notched the game at 10 after
Zarria Carter grasped an offensive rebound and scored a second chance basket with 5 minutes left in the first quarter. St. Francis ended the first quarter on a 15-2 run.
TXWES shot 6 of 19 (31 percent) in the first quarter. St. Francis shot 10 of 19 (52.6 percent) in the opening quarter of play. TXWES was a +1 in rebounds, corralling 12 total rebounds in the opening quarter. After one quarter of play, the Lady Rams trailed 25-12.
Lindsey Thorpe came off the bench and immediately made an impact with a steal and then knocked down a three-pointer at the other end to cut the deficit to 29-15 with 5:50 left in the second quarter. St. Francis continued its 21-5 run with a basket to extend its lead to 31-15 with 5:30 left in the second quarter.
Makayla Coy knocked down two free-throws to cut the deficit it faced to 36-19.
Zarria Carter and
QuinNae Love scored consecutive baskets to pull the Lady Rams within 14 points with 1:41 left in the second quarter. As time expired in the first half, St. Francis made a layup to take a 41-28 lead heading into halftime.

Zarria Carter scored 10 points and recorded 4 rebounds. TXWES shot 12 of 34 (35 percent) from the field in the first half. St. Francis shot an efficient 47 percent from the field. The Lady Rams recorded 22 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 blocks in the first half.
St. Francis began the third quarter with three consecutive made shots beyond the arc to extend its lead to 50-28 with 7:30 left in the third quarter.
Kertisa Amos scored the first points of the third quarter for the Lady Rams with an and-one to make the score 50-31.Â
Each time TXWES battled back, St. Francis made timely three-pointers. Offensively the Lady Rams were not able to develop a rhythm, but continued to compete. With 2:49 left in the third quarter, TXWES trailed 59-40. Tianna Tullis brought energy off the bench as she forced a turnover with a tough defensive play to draw a foul.
The Lady Rams used gritty defense to claw its way to within 14 points after three quarters of play. To start the fourth quarter St. Francis extended its lead to 67-49.
Makayla Coy drove through defenders to convert an and-one to make the score 67-52.Â
With 5:52 left in the game, TXWES trailed 71-58.

TXWES was not able to overcome the deficit as it fell to USF 82-75 to end its tremendous season. The Lady Rams finished the season with a 25-7 record which is the third winningest record in a season in program history.Â
