FB: Rams Remain Undefeated and Improve to 2-0 in SAC

The Texas Wesleyan Rams faced off against Oklahoma Panhandle State at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Saturday defeating them with a final score of 52-0.  
 
The win improved the Rams' record to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC), leaving the Rams with a 3-2 record against the Aggies.  
 
The Rams are now first in the SAC, with Langston and Ottawa a game behind at 2-0.  
 
The Rams had a lead of 22-0 over the Aggies before the end of the first half, with the defense scoring difficult on five forced punts and a fumble caused by DB Elijah Hall that DB Chance Carroll recovered before the end of the first quarter. 

The Rams' defense is giving up only 7 points per game, and the offensive averages over 51 points per game through the first three games, including two shutouts.
 
QB Dalton Dale finished with 193 yards on 7 of 16 attempts and 2 TDs passing. WR Brandon Rolfe and Charlie Simmons finished with 154 receiving yards combined. Rolfe had three catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, and Simmons with three catches for 54 yards and a touchdown. RB Ernie Ceasaer joined the receivers scoring a touchdown on one catch for 52 yards.  
 
The second half was the same for the Rams, with an incredible defense that forced six punts in half with a combined total of 11 forced punts but only scored once in the third quarter on a 38-yard pass from Dale to Simmons.  
 
RB Ty Williams scored a TD from two yards out at the start of the fourth quarter and finished with 31 yards on six rushing attempts. Rolfe secured a 14-yard pass from QB Carson Rodgers for a TD about 5 minutes into the final quarter. 

Rodgers finished going 8-14 for 104 yards and two TDs. 

K Armando Benitez kicked a field goal from 37 yards out with about 4 minutes left in the game. After a forced fumble and recovery by DL Kobe Adams, TE Cayden Glasgow closed out the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown catch from Rodgers with about 3 minutes left in the game, leaving a final score of 52-0.  
 
LB Dylan Pettway, DB Jamarrion "Jay" Reed and DL Archie Williams led the defense in solo tackles with 11 each, and DL Shaun Tolbert recorded two sacks for the defensive side.  
 
The Ram's offense finished with 297 passing yards compared to the Aggies' 127 yards and 127 rushing yards to their 46 yards. The Ram's offense had a total of 424 yards, while the Aggies' finished with 169 of total offense.  
 
The Rams will face off against Ottawa University back at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 P.M. #10 Ottawa is currently 2-0 in the conference. Ottawa has won all three games against the Rams.
