Box Score The Texas Wesleyan men's soccer team (6-1-0, 0-0-0) hosted the Southwestern Christian University Eagles (1-2-0, 0-0-0) on September 20, 2022, at Martin Field. The Rams are apart of the Sooner Athletic Conference, and are led by Head Coach
Cole Sweetser who is assisted by Ivan Kovavevic and
Rickey Robles. In addition, the Rams are also helped by graduate assistant
Matheus Macedo.
It was a hot sunny day at Martin Field. The game started at 90 degrees and ended at 86 degrees and of course it would not be Texas if it weren't humid. The humidity was a whopping 50%.
The contest was the first conference game of the season. The first twenty minutes of the game was back and forth until senior #2
James Kerr opened the scoring in the 21st minute of the match by a pass from senior #4 Chichiro Ichimaru. It would not take the Eagles long to respond. In the 22nd minute the Eagles would score a goal of their own tying the game 1-1. Soon after Kerr would take the lead back after he scored unassisted in the 26th minute of the game. Going into the half the score was 2-1.
The Rams came out of the half hot as freshman #17 Augustus Aidonis would extend the lead 3-1 by a pass from senior #6
Mario Herrera in the 47th minute. Things got a bit chippy in the second half with emotions flying, and total of nine yellow cards were issued during the game all happening in the second half.

Jim Van Dijk was the goal keeper for the Rams having three saves with one goal allowed. Kerr is the most valuable player for this match having 2 shots on goal and two goals with 100% shooting accuracy. He recorded a total of 74 minutes played.
The Southwestern Christian Eagles had fourteen shots with twelve of those coming in the second half. Eight of these shots were on goal. The Texas Wesleyan Rams had a total of twelve shots with eight in the first half and four in the second. Eight out of the twelve were on goal. After this win the Rams are now 6-1 and undefeated in conference play.
