WSOC: Lady Rams Beat Lady Eagles at Home

FORT WORTH, TX — Texas Wesleyan University Lady Rams secured a convincing victory in a soccer match against Southwestern Christian University Lady Eagles with a final score of 2-0.  


Texas Wesleyan's Kiki Molinar opened the scoring at 17:32 with an assist from Gracie Spradley, giving the home team an early lead. Alexa Bezpalko extended their lead at 33:26, assisted by Maribel Vargas.  


SCU struggled to find the back of the net, with Texas Wesleyan's defense and goalkeeper Milan Carroll preventing any goals. Lady Eagles Celeste Lucio made five saves in the first half, while Texas Wesleyan's goalkeeper Milan Carroll made three saves. The match ended with SCU having 12 shots, eight of which were on target, while Texas Wesleyan had ten shots, all on target.


In the second half, Texas Wesleyan continued their strong defensive performance. Gracie Spradley received a yellow card for Texas Wesleyan at 64:19.


With this victory, TXWES improved to a season record of 5-6-1, including a conference record of 2-2-0. On the other hand, SCU fell to 3-9-1 for the season, with a conference record of 0-4-1.
