WAXAHACHIE, TX- The Texas Wesleyan University Rams secured their spot in the 2023 SAC Championship match in a 3-1 win over Mid America Christian University inside of the Sheaffer Center on Friday.

MACU would control most of the first set as Texas Wesleyan were slow to start. Heading down the stretch the Evangels held a seven-point lead over the Rams at 13-6. Texas Wesleyan would slowly chip away at the score and eventually grab their first lead in the set at 22-21. MACU would make some untimely errors that allowed the Rams to steal set one 25-23. In set two the rams would take a 12-5 lead as their offensive came to life. MACU would do their best to play catchup, but they were unable to keep up with the Rams. Texas Wesleyan would take the 25-19 set win over their opponents. Set Three would see MACU get off to a quick start much like they did in the first set. The Rams trailed the entire set as the Evangels fought to avoid the sweep. With the score at 23-15 Texas Wesleyan would go on a 5-0 run to make things interesting as we neared the end of the set. MACU would remain tough to close out the set 25-20, but all the momentum was with the rams heading into what would be the final set of the night. With a trip to the conference championship on the line the Rams would take care of the Evangels in set four with a 25-13 win. Texas Wesleyan would lead as much as 19-8 before closing out the game on a 6-5 run to defeat MACU for the third time this season.

Ruby O'Brien added 12 of her own to go with 27 assists in the win.
The Rams will take on host Southwestern Assemblies of God University in the 2023 SAC tournament final tomorrow starting at noon.
