MBB: Rams Rebound with Win Against CCCK at Home

The TXWES Men's Basketball (13-12, 10-9 SAC) beat Central Christian College of Kansas (7-18, 5-14 SAC) on Thursday, 87--53.
   
The Rams led 38-24 going into halftime. TXWES shot 14-29 (48.28%) from the field, 5-11(45.45%) from the three-point line and 5-8 (62.50%) from the free-throw line in the first half. In the second half, the Rams shot 17-26 (65.38%) from the field, 5-7 (71.43%) from the three-point line and 10-12 (83.33%) from the free throw line.
   
For the game, TXWES was 31-55 from the field (56.40%), 10-18 from the three-point line (55.60%), and 15-20 from the free-throw line (75%). The Rams scored three second-chance points, 30 points in the paint, and 20 points off turnovers.
   
 TXWES contained CCCK to 20-67 shooting from the field (29.90%), 7-32 from the three-point line (21.9%) and 6-7 from the free-throw line (85.70%). CCCK scored 12 points in the paint, nine points off turnovers and five second-chance points.
   
Four Rams scored in double figures. Akili Vining led all scorers with 14 points, on 5-8 from the floor and 4 assist. Matt Nero came off the bench to score 14 points in 19 minutes. Gavin Harris and Keyaun Hoskin both scored 13 points. Cooper Macaulay who came in the game late was able to contribute for the Rams, scoring the first three pointer of his college career.

The Rams' next game is against Langston University, on Feb. 11, in the Sid Richardson Center, with tip-off scheduled for 3:45 PM.
