WBB: Lady Rams Advance in SAC Tournament With Win Over OCU

The Texas Wesleyan Lady Rams took on the Oklahoma City University Stars on Thursday night in the Oklahoma Ford Dealers Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, seeing the Lady Rams emerge victorious with a 93-74 win. The Lady Rams dominated the game from the start and were in the lead for the entire game. They took a double-digit lead at halftime and never looked back. 

The Lady Rams had a high offensive output, with four players scoring double digits. 

Makayla Coy was a standout player, scoring 17 points and being a defensive pest with two blocks and two steals. She was also perfect from the free throw line, going 6-for-6. 

Kertisa Amos scored 17 points, showcasing her masterful performance and adding two assists to her tally. Amos had 11 points at halftime, setting the tone for the Lady Rams' offensive dominance. 

Zarria Carter was a presence in the paint, pulling down eight rebounds and contributing to the Lady Rams' strong defensive effort. Her offensive output was also spectacular, scoring 14 points while knocking down eight free throws. 
The Lady Rams shot an impressive 49.2% from the field and 33.3% from behind the arc. 

The Lady Rams' double-digit lead at halftime gave them the confidence to keep pushing forward and dominating the game. The Lady Rams' offense was too much for the Stars to handle, and they continued to increase their lead throughout the game, with their largest lead at 29 points. 

Texas Wesleyan's bench players scored a total of 28 points, compared to the Stars' 12 points from their bench players. The Lady Rams' bench players made significant contributions to the team's offensive output, providing much-needed support to the starters. They played with energy and intensity, keeping the Lady Rams' momentum going throughout the game. 

The Lady Rams' solid offensive performance, highlighted by the high scoring of Coy and Amos and their strong defensive effort led by Carter, secured their well-deserved victory.
