BB: Rams Take Two Games From Sterling

Game 1

On Friday, the Texas Wesleyan University baseball team defeated Sterling College 2-0 in the first two games in Dallas, Texas. The game saw strong performances by both the Texas Wesleyan pitchers and hitters.

In the third inning, Texas Wesleyan scored their first run when Tomas Sanchez singled and brought Jonathan Pena to third base. JD Padgett then scored, putting Texas Wesleyan in the lead. In the fifth inning, Sanchez doubled and brought TJ Tomlinson home, extending Texas Wesleyan's lead further. Despite having five hits throughout the game, Sterling College could not score any runs.

The game occurred at Texas Rangers Youth in Dallas, Texas, with cloudy and chilly weather of 46 degrees. Both teams were able to score in the first inning, with Sterling leading the score 2-0. However, Texas Wesleyan responded quickly, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning to tie the game.

Sterling added one more run in the second inning, but Texas Wesleyan's pitching tightened up to keep Sterling from scoring for the rest of the game. The Texas Wesleyan pitching was led by Andrew Graham, who came in relief and pitched five innings, giving up just one run and earning his first win.

Tomlinson and Logan Silvertooth hit singles to score runs, and Chaesten Chon hit a single to score another run, bringing the score to 6-5. Texas Wesleyan's pitching led in the final innings to seal the win.
